Spectacular diving, pristine reefs and an amazing array of marine life - this is what divers can expect staying at Walindi Plantation Resort.
Walindi is situated on the shores of Kimbe Bay, on the island of New Britain, PNG`s largest island.
This is an intimate dive resort, with 12 traditional style self-contained bungalows spread along the beach front and eight Plantation House rooms, all surrounded by rainforest gardens. The main resort area is the social hub of Walindi and includes the tropical and airy reception and dining room, lounge and bar area, swimming pool, sun deck, boutique and a comprehensive library with computers and internet access.
The coral reefs around Walindi Plantation Resort are some of the finest in the world with an extraordinarily rich diversity of marine life.
Restaurants & Bars
The Casuarina Restaurant is centrally located and offers three meals a day at set times. Cooked breakfasts are available, lunch is buffet style with a selection of hot dishes and salads and dinner is à la Carte.
The delicious and plentiful cuisine is both western and Asian style using local produce and seafood.
Complimentary tea and freshly ground coffee are available at all times in the dining room.
The Planter`s Bar is open for most of the day and offers the usual selection of wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks.
You may choose to swim from the jetty, along the beautiful beach or in the resort swimming pool next to the lounge area. The snorkelling is also excellent.
A guide is available to take you on some wonderful walking tours and there is a selection of bird watching excursions to the small inlets of Kimbe Bay to see a host of exotic species, such as the blue-eyed cockatoo and nine different species of kingfisher.
There is a large air conditioned lounge and library with comfortable seating and an extensive range of reference books providing information on marine life, underwater photography and local history and traditions. There is also a small fiction section and a TV and DVD player. Guests can access the internet from this room.
Walindi Dive have three dive boats operating from the resort daily. The day boats take six to eight divers out to the many beautiful reefs of Walindi and Kimbe Bay, most of which are within 45 minutes boat ride.
The reefs are a photographer`s paradise, with an incredible array of marine life, from the smallest to the largest creatures and corals. Generally, divers will head out for two dives, leaving at 9am and returning at 4pm, with lunch provided on one of the deserted islands nearby.
On request, three dives per day can be organised, subject to boat availability and night dives can also be arranged.
Nitrox is available.
For a holiday at Walindi Plantation Resort you will need to fly to Jackson's International Airport, Port Moresby.
You can fly with various airlines via Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan or Australia depending on your itinerary.
You will need an overnight stay in Port Moresby (on the way there and on the way back) and from here it's a short flight to Hoskins Airport followed by a 45 minute transfer to the resort.

Evening arrival into Singapore connecting with onward overnight flight to Port Moresby.
Morning arrival to Port Moresby and transfer to the Airways Hotel for 1 night.
Early morning flight to Hoskins. Transfer to Walindi Plantation Resort for 14 nights with 20 fabulous dives!
Depart Walindi Plantation Resort and tranfer back to Hoskins for early morning check-in for flight to Port Moresby. On arrival transfer to the Airways Hotel for 1 night.
Depart Airways Hotel and transfer back to Port Moresby Airport to check-in for your return international flight via Singapore.

Price includes return international flights to Port Moresby from the UK and return domestic flights from Port Moresby to Hoskins.
For Walindi Plantation Resort it includes transfers and 14 nights accommodation staying in a twin/double Plantation House Room, on a full board meal plan and a 20 dive package with tanks/weights.
For the Airways Hotel it includes transfers and 2 nights accommodation (one night either side of Walindi Resort) in a twin/double Bacchus Room, on a room only basis.
