Restaurants & Bars

You will not be disappointed in the food at Qamea Resort. The experienced chef and her fijian team prepare a selection of delicious dishes, all made from the resort`s own organic fruit and vegetables or produce flown in directly from Australia and New Zealand. All the seafood is locally caught by two Qamea fishermen while the beef and poultry are also imported from Australia and New Zealand.

For lunch and dinner the menu is changed daily and there is always a choice of two entrées with at least one vegetarian option. Every afternoon, tea and homemade cakes or pastries are served.

Once a week there is usually a wine tasting, where guests are invited to sample New Zealand, Australian and Californian wines.

There is plenty to do at Qamea Resort. If you are a sailor there are two Hobie cats and two fully rigged windsurfers. The trade winds often pick up after lunch which is the perfect time of day to catch a few waves on the outer reef.

You may choose to explore the stunning island bays by kayak and the resort`s activities co-ordinator can plot out an adventurous itinerary, taking in the scenic stops and villages along the way.

All these activities are complimentary.

Once or twice a week the resort offers a guided jungle and beach hike; Qamea and Taveuni are world famous for rare tropical bird species.

There are also lots of exciting island tours which take you across rivers, through remote villages, to waterfalls and rock pools.

The new jungle Qamea Spa offers an extensive range of therapies and massage in tropical surroundings.

Some of the best diving in Fiji is to be found in the Somosomo Straits, just minutes from Qamea and from the island of Taveuni, which is nearby. In addition there are charter boat trips to the famous Rainbow Reef and the White Wall in the Somosomo Straits. Soft and hard corals abound in these waters, making it paradise for underwater photographers.

The resort has an excellent house reef just meters from it's sandy beach, access is easy and the reef can be dived day and night at no additional cost.

Dive Qamea is a PADI 5 Star centre, offering all the usual PADI courses; Nitrox is available at an additional cost.

Most of the dive sites are very close to the resort so divers can return to the resort in-between dives.
