One of the larger Maldivian resort islands, Kuredu offers a wide range of facilities and entertainment and is well suited to divers and water sports enthusiasts, with 3½ kilometres of beautiful beach and a turquoise blue lagoon. This resort offers excellent value for money.

Kuredu is situated on the northern reef of Lhaviyani Atoll, an area famous for abundant fish life and great diving.

The island is really several resorts within one, with different restaurants according to the type of room. This is a large and lively resort but there are also areas where guests can relax. Kuredu has its own golf course and in addition a wide choice of land and water sports, plus a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center.

Your Accommodation Options

Garden Bungalows

Garden Bungalows are situated in the gardens, a few steps from the beach, with a partially open-air bathroom with shower.  

Rooms are simple and basic with good facilities which include a CD player, tea/coffee making facility, air conditioning, ceiling fan, mini-bar, safe, telephone, beach towels, hair drier (on request), a wooden terrace and sun beds.

The Bonthi Restaurant is the allocated restaurant for guests staying in Garden Bungalows - although there are various optional a la carte restaurants as well. 

The Garden Bungalows are sold on an All-Inclusive Plus meal plan only.

Beach Bungalows are in the north of the island and have a wooden terrace, four poster bed, comfortable rattan furniture and small beautifully presented garden area. The open air bathrooms are spacious with a walk-in shower. Each room has a CD player, tea/coffee making facility, air conditioning, ceiling fan, mini-bar, safe, telephone, hair drier (on request) and beach towels.

The Bonthi Restaurant is the allocated restaurant for guests staying in Beach Bungalows - although there are various optional a la carte restaurants as well. 

The Beach Bungalows are sold on an All-Inclusive Plus meal plan only.

Beach Villas

Beach Villas are available in two different locations - in the central southern part of the island and on the north eastern tip.

These rooms are on the beach and are more spacious with partially open-air bathrooms with walk-in shower, double sinks, decorative wrought iron furniture, stocked mini bar, stocked wine refrigerator, complimentary once daily re-stocking of coffee/tea, colour cable TV, high speed broadband internet connection and iPod docking station. 

Guests staying in Beach villas will be allocated to the Komas Restaurant or the O Restaurant (whichever is nearest to their room) - although there are various optional a la carte restaurants as well.

The Jacuzzi Beach Villa are located on the southern beach.  The rooms and amenities are the same as the Beach Villas, but with the addition of four-poster beds, a private walled-in outdoor area featuring a jacuzzi for two and a Thai style shade pavilion.  

The Komas Restaurant is the allocated restaurant for guests staying in Jacuzzi Beach Villas - although there are various optional a la carte restaurants as well. 

Sangu Water Villas & Sangu Water Villa Honeymoon Suite

Sangu Water Villas are located on the north-west side of the island, built on stilts and suspended above the turquoise lagoon.The veranda and private sundeck provide the perfect place to relax and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of the ocean. The deck also has steps that lead directly down into the lagoon - perfect for snorkeling and swimming. The villas have a spacious bedroom, a sitting area beautifully furnished with wrought iron furniture and an enclosed bathroom.  All rooms are air-conditioned and have an additional ceiling fan. The villa also provides guests with a CD player, colour cable TV, mini-bar, safe, telephone, sun beds, beach towels, hair drier, kimonos and Nespresso machine with tea/coffee making facilities.

The Sangu Water Villa Honeymoon Suite is the same as the Sangu Water Villas but more spacious and including a living/dining room area and bathroom with a jacuzzi. 

Guests take their meals in the Sangu Restaurant, but have the option to eat in the Bonthi, Koamas and "O" Restaurants with a prior table reservation.

Only guests of 18 years or older will be accommodated in the Sangu Water Villas and the Sangu Honeymoon Suite and may use the "Sangu" Resort swimming pool and dine in the Sangu Restaurant. 

Sultan Pool Villas

Sultan Pool Villas have offer truly stunning accommodation, set deep in the tropical vegetation. They provide guests with absolute privacy in luxury surroundings.

The villas are located in the central part of the island and each villa has its own private cabana on the beach with sun loungers. The outdoor space is stylish and comfortable with an open seating area overlooking the private swimming pool, protected by a large thatched roof. The bedroom is beautifully furnished with teak wood and has a magnificent four poster bed and separate dressing area combining a walk-in wardrobe and a mini pantry equipped with mini bar and stocked wine refrigerator. A large comfortable chair and dressing table complete the bedroom.

The bathroom is semi open air with twin ceramic wash basins and a large shaded walk-in rain shower and a jacuzzi bath tub.

Additional villa facilities include colour cable TV, CD player and IPod docking station, safe, telephone, beach towels, sun beds, hair drier, kimonos, Nespresso machine with tea/coffee making facilities.

Sultan Pool Villa guests choose where they would like to dine.

Kuredu boasts four main restaurants, three a la carte restaurants, seven bars and a Sai Kotari Tea House.  Bonthi, Koamas, “O” (top image) and Sangu (middle image) the four main restaurants, all serve buffet style international and local cuisine.

Bonthi is located in the centre of the island and in addition to the buffet,on different theme nights there is a selection of food from around the world.

Koamas, “O” and Sangu offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. “O” Restaurant has a deck over the beautiful lagoon. Only guests of 18 years and older can dine in the Sangu Restaurant.  Only guests of 12 years and older can dine in the O Resort restaurant and the O Bar. 

For something special you can visit one of the unique a la carte restaurants The Beach, Far East and Franco's.

The Beach specialises in seafood and grills such as BBQ steaks, lobster and seafood.

At the Far East Restaurant a variety of Asian dishes are offered while the cuisine at Franco’s is strictly Mediterranean in influence, where guests can enjoy meat, fish, seafood, pizza and pastas flavoured with aromatic herbs!

If you are celebrating an important occasion Kuredu can arrange special dinners on the beach to your specifications making sure you have an unforgettable dining experience.

When it comes to drinks and evening entertainment, guests have a wide choice of venue. The lively Babuna Bar provides the main entertainment with games, quizzes and discos, while foror a more relaxed evening the Akiri Bar has free Wi-Fi access. The Pool Bar ( bottom image) specialises in a variety of cocktails and has an informal atmosphere. The Golf Bar is an ideal place after a game of golf or, for something completely different, Sai Kotari is a tea house offering speciality teas and coffee cocktails available from dusk until midnight. O bar combines luxury with stunning views and the Sangu Bar is open to Sangu patrons only. The Raalhu Bar, in front of the watersports centre, offers guests somewhere to enjoy a drink after a busy day of experiencing water sports activities.

Kuredu boasts an impressive array of sports facilities and guests can be as active or inactive as they choose.

Golf is a popular activity and the resort has a 6-hole par 3 course with the average length of a hole being 55 yards; there is also a Pro Shop to browse.

A multipurpose ground is the location for games like football and cricket and the floodlit tennis court is open until late in the evening. Badminton can be played on a sand based court and the gym provides an extensive range of training equipment.

The Entertainment Centre is in an open air Maldivian style house and provides a variety of activities conveniently all in one location, TV room, library, giant floor chess, table tennis, darts and pool tables.

Beach volleyball is available every day while Kuredu currently has the largest watersports centre available in the Maldives.

With an impressive array of water activities the more adventurous can enjoy water skiing, wakeboarding, kitesurfing, banana and blast rides, parasailing, windsurfing, pedalos, canoes and catamaran sailing.

If you’re ready to explore more of the Maldives a variety of additional excursions are offered including a luxury sailing cruise, sunset cruise, island hopping, Robinson Crusoe experience, night fishing and big game fishing.

There are two spas available on the island - Duniye Spa and O Spa follow a natural approach to health and well-being.

Diving

Diving is run by Prodivers, a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center offering a full range of PADI scuba diving courses for total beginners right through to instructor level. Regular courses start throughout the week and an extensive range of PADI specialty courses are also offered.

The island’s house reef, running from 3 metres down to 22 metres, is great for snorkellers and divers alike and is also home to a shipwreck.

With over 50 dive sites in the area, there is something available for everyone from gentle dives for beginners to serious drift dives for the more experienced.

Photographers can expect superb macro locations and variety of wide angle subjects, and facilities include E6 processing and an online digital video editing system.

Dives sites such as Kuredu Caves and Kuredu Express are within easy reach of the island. Kuredu Caves, also known as ‘Turtle Airport’ due to the large population of green sea turtles that live here, has a series of overhangs starting at 8 metres and dropping down to 20 metres. The ceilings of the overhangs are covered in soft corals and soldier fish swimming upside down. Stingrays, napoleon wrasse, porcupine fish, lion fish, moray eels and scorpion fish are all residents of the dive site.

Kuredu Caves is also a spectacular night dive! Kuredu Express is one of the most famous dive sites in the Lhaviyani Atoll. Getting its name from the strong currents that can flow here, grey reef sharks, eagle rays, large tuna, napoleon wrasse, stingrays and barracuda are all frequently seen, along with huge schools of jack fish.

If you need to hire kit during your stay the dive centre is very well equipped with good reliable, fully serviced rental equipment providing everything you could possibly need to enjoy safe diving. Scooter diving and Rebreather diving are also available on Kuredu, with introduction dives and speciality courses available for both. Prodivers also run a dedicated snorkel centre with a range of activities.

The centre runs daily trips to a number of snorkelling sites in the area and can also provide snorkelling courses including the incredibly popular “Turtle and Manta Ray” speciality course.

Travel Information

If you are travelling through or from the UK we can arrange flights on a choice of airlines at very competitive fares. Emirates have a flexible schedule of daily departures from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow via Dubai. Sri Lankan airlines offer flights from Heathrow via Colombo. British Airways offer a non-stop service 3 times a week between December and March from Gatwick. Etihad Airways operate flights from Heathrow and Manchester via Abu Dhabi. With such flexibility in air travel you can choose to stay on your selected island for any number of days you would like. 

If you would like to arrange your own flights, we can quote you a rate for your island accommodation that excludes flights.

On arrival at the airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to the resort.
