The Barrier Reef is a "must visit" for any discerning diver and offers a tremendous diversity of coral and fish life. For the more adventurous, the remote reefs of the Coral Sea, that lie even further offshore, also beckon the diver.

North of Cairns and only accessible by liveaboards is a string of ten coral reefs called the Ribbon Reefs, where you will find some of the best dive sites on the Great Barrier Reef. This is where the famous Cod Hole is to be found, home to a family of giant potato cod. Other spectacular sites include Pixie Pinnacle, Dynamite Path and Challenger Bay. Diving here is at a depth less than 20 metres in sheltered waters and little current, which makes it a destination for divers of all levels and absolutely perfect for photographers.

Lying beyond the Ribbon Reefs are the reefs of the Coral Sea which cover an area three times larger than the Great Barrier Reef. Here pelagic species are abundant and the diving exciting and varied.
